Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Macee parted ways with her southern roots and ventured to Los Angeles in 2010 to make her mark in the world of creative arts. Since arriving in Hollywood, she has built a stellar reputation as an award-winning writer and casting director, with an extensive portfolio that spans across film, television, stage productions, commercials, print campaigns, live events, and viral content.
Before diving headfirst into behind-the-scenes work, Macee captivated audiences in her former acting days with roles in cult films such as FDR: American Badass!, American Ultra, and Miles Away. She also graced the small screen, appearing in TV shows like 2 Broke Girls, Men of a Certain Age, Man Up, The Doctors, and Luck, and showcased her flair for comedy in a sketch with Andy Samberg on Comedy Bang! Bang!. As a fan of the unexplained, Macee delved into the world of mysteries with multiple appearances on The History Channel’s Hangar 1: The UFO Files, which streamed in the Top 10 on Netflix.
Casting: An Exceptional Eye for Talent
As a casting director, Macee has become known for her uncanny ability to connect with talent on a deep, authentic level. Over the last eight years, she has brought more than 300 commercials, films, reality shows, documentaries, music videos, game shows, live events, and print campaigns to life for global clients like Nike, Hyundai, Apple, H&M, Marc Jacobs, Crayola, Starbucks, Netflix, and Disney.
Macee began her casting career at Tiffany Company Casting in 2017, where she made waves with her work on major campaigns like Mastercard’s “True Name” and Microsoft Xbox’s “We All Win” Super Bowl commercial, which earned prestigious Cannes Lion Grand Prix awards for their groundbreaking narratives. She also contributed to the Creative Arts Emmy-winning commercial “Love Has No Labels,” produced by the Ad Council. In recognition of her exceptional achievements, Macee was invited to join the Commercial Casting Directors Association of Los Angeles, further cementing her place among the top casting directors in Hollywood.
A New Chapter: Black Sheep Casting
In 2024, Macee took the leap into entrepreneurship by co-founding Black Sheep Casting alongside her longtime partners Fernanda Chaves and Mercedes Manning. The trio's mission is simple: to champion diversity, authenticity, and artistry by discovering bold, raw talent, bringing unique creative visions to life. Black Sheep Casting’s work has already been featured in the Super Bowl and at the Cannes Film Festival, racking up several awards. One of their standout accomplishments was the 2024 Super Bowl spot for Cetaphil, “Game Time Glow,” which was hailed as the Most Emotional Ad of the night by Vogue, GQ, and Variety.
Screenwriting: Daring, Unapologetic, and Award-Winning
Macee's writing career is just as inspiring as her casting work, with her true passion shining through in her award-winning plays, screenplays, articles, and short stories. Known for creating bold narratives driven by distinctive female protagonists, Macee’s scripts challenge conventions and push boundaries. Her screenplay Hand Twins, a fearless female-led romantic dramedy, has garnered a remarkable 17 accolades, including WINNING Best Feature Screenplay at the 2022 California Women’s Film Festival, the 2022 First Women’s Film Festival, and the 2022 Venus Community Awards. It also made waves by placing as a Semi-Finalist at the prestigious 2022 ScreenCraft Film Fund Feature Competition, judged by Mark Duplass, and received multiple other Semi-Finalist honors at the 2021 Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, the 2021 Scriptation Showcase Screenplay Competition, and the 2022 Filmmatic Drama Screenplay Awards.
Hand Twins went on to earn Quarter-Finalist titles at the 2024 Pitch to Page Comedy Screenwriting Contest, the 2022 Scriptapalooza Screenplay Competition, and the 2022 Richmond International Film Festival, and was selected as a Preliminary Finalist at the 2022 Creative World Awards. With Official Selection nominations at the 2023 Cannes Film Awards, the 2022 LA Indies Film Festival, the 2022 Toronto International Women’s Film Festival, the 2022 Andromeda Film Festival, the 2021 Miami Indie Film Awards, the 2021 Toronto Film & Script Awards, and other festivals, Hand Twins now ranks in the top 4% of the 92,000 screenplays on Coverfly.
The Pyramid Scheme: A New Screenwriting Venture
Macee recently completed her new screenplay, The Pyramid Scheme, a daring female ensemble revenge flick co-written with Fernanda Chaves. This gripping psychological thriller blends dark humor with horror, offering a sharp critique of misogyny while exploring the extreme lengths scorned women will go to reclaim their power in male-dominated world. This screenplay has already been well received by those within the industry, and the duo is currently shopping the script with plans to move the project into development in the coming year.
A Multifaceted Career: Playwriting, Journalism, and More
Beyond screenwriting, Macee is a celebrated playwright whose works have graced regional and community theaters across the U.S. In 2014, her short film script Row 28 won Best Short at the Hollywood Screenplay Contest, and the stage adaptation was later published by JAC Publishing & Promotions, making it available on Amazon and Kindle. Multiple monologues from Macee’s original play Stone Cold Sober were selected by Smith & Kraus Publishers for inclusion in their popular anthology book series The Best Women’s Stage Monologues of 2017, which is sold at major retailers like Barnes & Noble and Target. Heuer Publishing acquired her comedic one-act Candi With An I in 2018, and featured it in their renowned Catalog for the Performing Arts. The play is now sold on Amazon and Heuer Publishing’s website. Macee’s playwriting continued to flourish with the publication of her play Now Boarding by Off The Wall Plays, along with her monologue collection featuring titles such as Static, Waiting, and Undressed, sold digitally through OffTheWallPlays.com.
Her passion for storytelling also extends to journalism. Macee has worked as an Editorial Content Writer for popular media outlets like TheRichest, Ranker, and TopBuzz, where several of her articles went viral, attracting over 3 million views. She further honed her flair for journalism during a two-year stint working as an Assignment Reporter for The Canyon News in Los Angeles. In 2018, Dancing Iguana Productions recruited Macee as a Segment Writer and Producer for the hit podcast Left Unsupervised with Elizabeth Morales, available on iTunes, Google Play, and Spotify.
A Passion for Supporting Artists
In 2021, Macee’s dedication to the arts led to her invitation to join the Arkansas Arts Council, where she served as a Grant Reviewer, Panel Member, and Discussion Leader, supporting performing arts organizations in her home state. Over the past two years, Macee’s commitment to mentoring up-and-coming writers led to her serving as a Screenplay Contest Judge at SYS’s Six-Figure Film Festival for both the 2023 and 2024 festival seasons, where she evaluated scripts, provided coverage, and participated in industry panels, sharing her expertise in the field of screenwriting. In her spare time, Macee found a personal creative outlet co-authoring a women’s comedy blog called Thoughts From A Tiny Ass Chair.

In 2024, Macee launched the B!tchFest Film Festival & Screenplay Contest, an international celebration of women and LGBTQIA+ creators in the entertainment industry. Held in the heart of Los Angeles, this groundbreaking event is redefining the narrative by proudly showcasing a variety of exceptional films and screenplays created by the most badass women and LGBTQIA+ voices in the industry. Macee’s remarkable journey has garnered significant media attention and press. LA Indies Independent Film Magazine named her an Up-and-Coming Hollywood Screenwriter, celebrating her acclaimed screenplay Hand Twins, while VoyageLA Magazine recognized her as a Los Angeles Creative on the Rise. In January 2023, Hand Twins was selected as the Screenplay of the Month and featured in the prestigious Cannes Film Awards Distribution List. Later that year, Bold Journey Magazine highlighted Macee’s artistic achievements in their series on Hollywood Creatives You Should Know, and Canvas Rebel Magazine profiled her multifaceted career as a casting director and writer in their Arts & Entertainment section.
